Bill Ooms led the discussion. Here's his slide deck (PDF) and a version with just the text pulled out of it.

Preview: If your data is important to your business and you cannot afford to have your operations halted for hours- days - even weeks - due to data loss or corruption, then you need to come to the Glitz meeting and participate in the discussion on backups. This discussion Led by Bill Ooms of Business System Solutions will outline the most commonly made costly mistakes that most small business owners make with their data backups. How to get back up and running in the shortest time possible, are we backing up data or the whole system (RTO). The easiest way to insure your data isn't lost, what is the frequency of the backups? Once a day, hour, every 15 minutes (RPO)? Are the backups monitored and tested to make sure the data can be restored? Is off site needed as an option? How much user interaction is needed like watching emails, changing tapes, offsite storage etc? Are you just backing up data or your whole system, is it the server or one or many pc's? Some solutions are meant for the small user like the home situation and other needs are greater for businesses.
